An album of memories – our ancestors from the first world war

To commemorate the 100-year anniversary of the First World War, an Album of Memories of Our Ancestors from the Great War is being compiled.

The Association of Warriors’ Descendants from Serbia, 1912 to 1920, in collaboration with the Office for Cooperation with the Diaspora and Serbs in the region, part of the Government of the Republic of Serbia, has launched a PUBLIC CALL for citizens of Serbia, Serbs in the region and members of the diaspora to submit photos of their ancestors, autobiographical pieces of writing, diaries, postcards, letters from soldiers and other historical material from the period of the First World War, so as to participate in the creation of an ‘Album of Memories of our Ancestors from the First World War’.

In such a way, all participants may become part of this important anniversary for Serbian and world history, through keeping memories of great Serbian men alive and in doing so preserving the individual records of your ancestors, who were also a part of the great historical event that was First World War.

Documents can be submitted from 19^th March till 30^th April via the web portal.
